"It was a very stimulating day and it really brought Politics to life. It was good for the A Level students from Sydenham to see that they are part of a wider learning community. There cannot be a better time to be studying A Level Politics in such interesting, if not turbulent times!"
Venues & Arrangements
ON THE DAY
Please be in your seats by 10.35am - generally, events will begin at 10.45am and end by 4.15pm latest (see individual programmes)
GENERAL
TALKS:
Talks / questions are approximately 20 minutes per speaker, though there is variation - these days are FULL and breaks are limited, owing to the number of speakers! Many teachers have their students pick one session which they will not attend so as to give them a longer break.
TICKETS:
In order to avoid congestion, please distribute tickets to your students before arrival. Entry is by ticket only. No bags to be left in the hall at any time.
SEATING:
Please ask your group to follow the directions given by the Commissionaires / Ushers and fill up rows so that we are not left with empty, scattered seats.
Please note that 'saving seats' is not possible when talks are about to begin - if your students are late back (but still in time to attend the session) they will be allowed in but may end up sitting elsewhere for that session. You can meet up with them again at the break, of course.
CATERING:
There are some fast food outlets nearby – but there can sometimes be queues. Students sometimes bring a packed lunch. Please note that the eating of food and smoking / vaping are not permitted in the building.
START TIME:
The event will start promptly at 10.45am and end no later than 4.15pm.
Please be in your seats by 10.35am. Delegates will not be admitted whilst talks are in progress.
SPEAKERS AND TIMES:
Please note that PolEconUK Ltd. reserves the right to amend the programme, order and timings where circumstances dictate, up to and including the day of the conference. Please monitor notices!
SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS:
Our terms and conditions state that students attending the conference must be supervised directly by staff from your institution. We reserve the right, entirely at our discretion, to ask any unsupervised students to leave the conference without notice.
PARKING:
There is no parking at either of the above venues. We suggest looking at National Car Parks or considering approaching a local school to ask about parking with them.
